TOURNAMENT RULES

Welcome to the most anticipated event in the legal world of cannabis connoisseurship – the Arcannabis Cup 2024! This year, the stakes are higher, the buds are juicier, and the competition is fiercer than ever before. With the convergence of cutting-edge strains and innovative cultivation techniques, it’s time to crown the champion of the Canadian cannabis industry.

But how do we determine the true champion among such a plethora of potent contenders? Fear not, for we’ve devised a comprehensive judging system that ensures fairness and transparency throughout the competition.

Judges’ Evaluation:

10 esteemed judges, divided evenly with 5 on each side, ready to embark on a journey through the fragrant landscape of cannabis excellence. Each day, these judges will meticulously evaluate each matchup blindly, allowing the quality of the flower to speak for itself.

But patience is key in this game. The judges will have a full 24 hours to ponder, sniff, and savor the essence of each strain before assigning their scores. With precision and impartiality, they’ll rate the buds based on aroma, taste, potency, and overall experience. (10am pst – 10am pst)

And here’s the twist – the highest average score from the judges propels the chosen flower to the next round, ensuring that only the crème de la crème advance in this thrilling competition.

Fan Voting:

But wait, there’s more! We believe in the power of the people, the enthusiasts who truly understand the magic of cannabis. That’s why we’re inviting fans of each brand to cast their votes daily on arcannabiscup.ca/vote. Your voice matters, and it accounts for a significant 20% of the final score.

But that’s not all – in the event of a tie among judges’ average scores, fan voting becomes the tiebreaker, ensuring that the community’s preferences are duly considered in this democratic cannabis extravaganza.

So buckle up, cannabis aficionados, because the Arcannabis Cup 2024 promises to be an exhilarating ride through the kaleidoscopic world of premium buds. With judges’ expertise and fan enthusiasm joining forces, we’re poised to discover the ultimate champion strain that will reign supreme in the annals of Canadian cannabis history.

Stay tuned, keep those senses sharp, and may the best bud win!

Policy on undesirables

AR Cannabis Cup x TDC Grading System

At the heart of the Cannabis Cup Competition is a commitment to celebrating excellence in cannabis products while ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants. As such, it is essential to address any potential issues that may arise, including the presence of mold in the judge’s sample packs. This policy outlines the rules and procedures regarding mold found in judge’s sample packs, emphasizing the importance of product safety and fair judging practices.

Understanding Mold:

Mold can occur on all organic plant matter, including cannabis. It is important to recognize that mold is not safe to consume and can pose health risks if ingested. While mold typically constitutes a small percentage of cannabis products, its presence can be indicative of improper storage practices during distribution or lengthy supply chains.

Analogously, while one can easily identify and discard moldy strawberries from a pack of otherwise fresh strawberries, our judging process allows us to discern trichome health and identify potentially harmful contaminants in cannabis samples.

Undesirables Policy:

  1. Detection and Scoring: If a judge discovers mold in a sample pack during the evaluation process, 0.5 points will be deducted from the overall score assigned to that sample. (Please note: The TDC Grading System allows for a maximum of 5 points per sample.)
  2. Replacement Sample: If mold is detected in a judge’s sample pack, a replacement sample will be provided to the judge, if available. Only excise-stamped products, as per the original rules of sample submission, may be used for the replacement. This ensures that replacement samples meet the same standards of legality and authenticity as the original samples.
  3. Follow-up: When contamination is found, the Licensed Producers (LPs) will be promptly contacted. This facilitates communication between competition organizers and LPs to address potential issues of mold contamination and uphold the integrity of the competition.
